My family moved here when I was a teenager from Jamaica. It was the beginning of an amazing journey...and continues to be one. The art and fashion fields were always a passion for me and I can remember drawing at an early age.
After graduating from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, I worked as a designer on 7th Avenue before moving to California, where I continued to expand my background in the fashion and beauty fields. I started my first company Hot Accent™ in 2004 to help busy women, like myself organize and protect their wardrobe investment.
What started out as a line of satin bags to protect lingerie and other delicates, evolved into a collection of other wardrobe organizers and care products. A popluar item became my chiffon makeup and hair guard that could be used by my clients, retailers and their customers.
Garment Saver
The success of the chiffon makeup guard for Hot Accent™ inspired me to create a disposable, inexpensive version. I researched and finally found a factory, in Talledega Alabama, to create our makeup guard prototype. After over a year in development, the Garment Saver™ was born! We've now combined both brands into simply...Garment Saver™. This offers customers a unified, growing range of options to organize and protect their wardrobe...with style!
It is important to me that give back to this great country by supporting manufacturing here as much as possible. In my time on 7th avenue, I saw many designers forced to ship sewing contracting oversees in order to remain competative. Our goal is to strike a balance between good value and the needs of the marketplace. I am happy to say that our disposable makeup guard, 50 piece container box and labels are made in the USA. Plus, all fullfilment and shipping is done in the USA.
