There are two primary goals : Pulling together easy looks that will get you through your trip without much fuss and being prepared for the unexpected (since you won't be home to make major wardrobe changes). Read more...
· Choose the right fabric & styles– Washable cotton blends that are no-wrinkle work best. They not only keep you cool and looking good, but if you get a stain it’s easy to do a quick rinse to fix it (rather than a dry clean only fabric). Favor styles that are easy to wear (pull-on, drawstring, etc.). They are less likely to be an issue than zippers and snaps that can malfunction.
· Travel in a complete outfit – Travel in weather appropriate pants, top and shoes; plus carry a sweater or jacket. If you get stranded or if your luggage is lost or stolen, you’ll have a “default” outfit that can get you through in a pinch. Also, remember to have an extra pair of underwear and your toiletries in your carry-on.
· Coordinate around a color – Planning around a color story keeps you looking pulled together…even if you have to swap out an item that has become un-wearable.
· Pack a Travel Clothing Repair Kit – Pack even the most basic items to prepare for fashion emergencies: fashion tape, stain wipes and a mini sewing kit.
